Private residential house Casa Crutos

On the second plot of 4.9 hectares is the private house that was built in 2009 according to Portuguese standards, remarkably sustainable and in a country style. Built area: 224 m2. The house has a large living room with authentic granite interior walls, a very spacious kitchen, a utility room, two terraces and two bedrooms with their own bathrooms. Inside there is a guest apartment with its own living room, bedroom, bathroom and veranda. This makes the house possibly also suitable for double occupancy. The entire house has underfloor heating and the living room also has a wood-burning stove. There is also a large veranda with outdoor kitchen, barbecue, pizza oven and space to eat with groups of up to 25 to 30 people.

Quinta do Retiro is located just outside the village of Covas near the towns of Tábua and Oliveira do Hospital. In the Dão wine region that is enclosed by the mountains of the Serra da Estrela National Park with the Torre as the highest mountain in Portugal, the Serra do Açor and the Serra do Caramulo. Two large rivers run through this area: the Rio Mondego, which is great for canoeing and kayaking, and the Rio Alva with its many beautiful river beaches. The area is popular with nature lovers, birdwatchers,  hikers and cyclists. There is no mass tourism, but the region is increasingly visited by tourists who love peace, space, nature and authentic villages with a very friendly population. The region has a large, diverse and vibrant foreign community.
